I'm a senior at the University of Michigan's School of Information, majoring in UX Design and Research and minoring in Digital Studies. Born and raised in New York City, I've always been interested in creative freedom and the constant growing of the world.
Growing up, I always wanted to be a film director and editor. Ever since I was a kid, I've carried a camera or phone around, making sure I captured all the moments happening around me that brought me joy. Soon after that, my little ideas were brought to life in little short films.
My passion for videography developed my interest in UX design because of the connection created between people through creativity and technology.

My Chinese background is something I hold very close to my heart. In Chinese, the character, "悦" or "yuè" means joy. My grandparents came up with my Chinese name, "黄心悦" (Huáng Xīn Yuè), knowing that I would always bring joy, happiness, and laughter into my life.
A designer's responsibility is to create positive emotions in their users. I hope to bring and continue spreading joy to all those around me through my design decisions.
